1. Existing problems

After several years of use, we found that the dust seal of the H6800 single-cylinder hydraulic cone metal crusher was worn out quickly and consumed a lot. Each crusher needs to replace about 4 dust seals every year, which is worth about 140,000 yuan. The operating cost of the equipment is high.

2. Cause analysis

The dust seal is supported under the moving cone and can move and slide freely relative to the dust cover. Due to the relative movement between the dust seal and the dust cover, it wears quickly. In about 3 to 4 months, the gap between the dust seal and the dust cover exceeds the allowable gap and must be replaced.

3. Repair and utilization

In view of the problem of large wear of the dust seal, a comprehensive analysis was conducted and corresponding transformation and utilization were carried out.

(1) The dust seal that needs to be replaced due to excessive wear was measured and aligned, and a groove with a width of 8mm and a depth of 7.8mm was machined on the inner working surface.

(2) An 8.5mm rubber ring was embedded in this groove, and the joint was pressed and connected.

(3) After inserting the rubber ring, clean the burrs of the groove and press the rubber ring tightly. Be careful not to let the rubber ring fall out of the groove during hoisting.

4. Precautions for use

The following points should be noted when using the modified dustproof seal ring.

(1) During operation, check for leakage frequently and replace the rubber ring regularly. Generally, the rubber ring is replaced regularly when the moving cone liner is replaced.

(2) Pay attention to the wear of the dustproof ring. If the wear is large, replace the dustproof seal ring. About 1 dustproof seal ring can be replaced every year.
