Application

5. When the volume resistance of conductive silicone is less than 10 ohm-cm, the conductive silicone has electromagnetic shielding function. That is, the volume resistance is less than 10 ohm-cm, mainly used in electromagnetic shielding occasions, also used in chassis, cabinets, shelters, power transmission and transformation projects, electronic and microwave waveguide systems, connector gaskets, etc.

 

Classification

 

Conductive silicone products have two profiles: molded and extruded. Molded conductive rubber can be made into plates of various thicknesses, molded products, strip products and die-cut flat gaskets. Extruded conductive silicone can be made into various conventional cross-sections, continuous gaskets, rectangular, circular, "D"-shaped, "U"-shaped, "P"-shaped, and various thin-walled structures. Various cross-sections can also be customized according to user requirements.


Nickel-coated copper powder is currently the most ideal conductive filler for conductive silicone. It has excellent conductivity and electromagnetic wave shielding properties. It has good oxidation resistance when conductive silicone is formed at high temperature, strong corrosion resistance in various environments (salt spray test) and a fairly long service life, ensuring that the product's qualified rate is 100%. In terms of cost, it has a strong cost advantage over silver-plated products such as: current silver-plated glass beads, silver-plated aluminum powder, silver-plated copper powder and pure silver powder. The supply price is not unstable due to rising silver prices. Nickel-coated copper powder has a stable supply price performance. It is the leading filling powder for conductive silicone in the future. Because the technology is relatively mature and the coating is good, it can be perfectly filled and used in various silicones. From a technical point of view: a good nickel-coated copper powder has quite a lot of technical difficulties in production technology, and the coating is not good and cannot meet the shielding performance requirements. Choosing a good nickel-coated copper powder is the key to product quality.


Conductive silicone must be subjected to a certain compression force to conduct electricity well, so the structural design must ensure the appropriate pressure without overpressure. The best height compression of the plate is 7-15%; the best height compression of solid round and D-shaped is 12-30%; the best height compression of tubular and P-shaped is 20-60%.
