Food-grade silicone—compliant with FDA and drinking water certification, widely used in food and medical industries

Silicone products that meet food-grade certification standards are collectively referred to as food-grade silicone products

Hao Seal uses brand-new imported food-grade silicone raw materials, processed by scientific formula and advanced technology. The product has the characteristics of softness, non-toxicity, odorlessness, stable high temperature resistance, etc., and is widely used in household appliances, medical industry, and food industry.

Food-grade silicone is produced by adding odorless vulcanizer or platinum vulcanizer to the original basic mixed silicone rubber, while ordinary industrial use is produced by adding dipentadienyl vulcanizer. The difference between the two is that food-grade silicone does not produce odor during production and molding, and can be in close contact with the human body. Food-grade silicone can pass FDA international quality inspection standards

In physics, silicone rubber is a saturated non-polar rubber based on a silicon element from quartz and formed by silicon atoms adhering to side chains such as methyl and vinyl. Different side chains are added to achieve different important properties.

Silicone rubber has excellent heat resistance, ozone resistance and oxidation resistance, and its electrolyte stability is very good. Among all elastomers, silicone rubber has the best elasticity at low temperatures. It has good water resistance, but poor water vapor resistance. However, silicone also has disadvantages, such as low tensile strength, poor tear resistance and abrasion resistance, and is generally not used in dynamic sealing applications.

Silicone is not recommended for use in most concentrated solvents, oils, concentrated acids and diluted sodium hydroxide.

Usage temperature

The standard operating temperature of silicone is between -60℃ and 225℃. Some special types can reach high temperatures of 300℃ and low temperatures of -100℃.

Hardness

Measured by a hardness meter (ShoreA), it is between 30 and 90 degrees.

Color

The standard color is brown-red, and other colors can also be produced according to customer requirements.

Application

Food-grade silicone is currently widely used in daily life. Among them, mobile phone cases, baby bibs, cup lids, water pipes, placemats, etc. that we often use in our lives are all made of food-grade silicone.

Seals or rubber parts used in the household appliance industry, such as rubber parts of microwave ovens and electric irons;

Seals or rubber parts in the electronics industry, such as mobile phone buttons, electrical shock pads, electrical seals, etc.;

Seals in medical supplies that come into contact with the human body, compliant with FDA and NSF certification, such as coffee pots, water dispensers, medical device seals, artificial organs, medical instruments, etc.
