Rubber seals are often used for sealing, but sometimes they are also used in other aspects. When we use seals, we will encounter various problems, such as breakage. In fact, there are three reasons for breakage.

Overload: Each material and product has its own load, so rubber materials are no exception. For example, the rated load that a rubber ring can withstand is 10N, while the working environment is 20N. It is easy to break under such an overload. Therefore, when selecting such components, it is necessary to consult the relevant data to understand how heavy the load is and whether the product is running under overload. Generally speaking, it is relatively stable not to exceed 90% of the product load.

Aging of rubber seal materials: Aging of materials is also an important reason for breakage. In many cases, each material has its own lifespan. If it is used for a long time and exceeds its lifespan, it will be damaged and manifested as a break; all products will become brittle when they age, and then the stress is concentrated on the notch, resulting in a break. Therefore, the rubber ring on the mechanical product needs to be replaced in time before aging and breaking to avoid the impact of cracks.

Corrosion of rubber seals: It is easy to understand that when a product is corroded and breaks. For example, in a chemically corrosive environment, if an inappropriate material is used, it will break very quickly. Therefore, when selecting materials for a product, it is necessary to understand the material properties and the environmental medium. Only when the material matches the medium used can the product play its normal role.
