Natural rubber (NR)

Natural rubber is latex produced from rubber trees, and the chemical name of its copolymer is polyisoprene. Polyisoprene can also be copolymerized from isoprene, a monomer extracted from petroleum. Natural rubber has many physical properties, including high elasticity and tension, and good friction resistance. Its disadvantage is that it is not resistant to hydrocarbon oils, and is not suitable for ultraviolet rays, oxygen, and ozone. However, its poor weather resistance can be improved by special additives.

Application

Natural rubber has good compatibility and can be used with many types of rubber. In the tire industry, natural rubber can be used to make various parts such as tread, carcass, sidewall, and inner tube. Natural rubber can also be used to make hoses, tapes, general mechanical seals, sponge products, surgical medical supplies, latex products, etc.
