Polyurethane elastomer PU,AU,EU

Polyurethane is the abbreviation of polyurethane. There are two types of polyurethane rubber that can be mixed and processed: one is polyester polyurethane (AU) and the other is ether polyurethane (EU). AU type has excellent oil resistance, fuel resistance and solvent resistance, good heat resistance and adhesion to metal, but is easily hydrolyzed. EU type is not easily hydrolyzed, and has comparable fuel and oil resistance compared to low acrylonitrile (18-22% ACN) NBR or HNBR.

Polyurethane rubber of any type has superior wear resistance, high tensile strength and high elasticity compared to any other elastomer

Curing system

Standard PU compounds are usually peroxide-bridged

Temperature range

AU:-40 ~ 100℃

EU:-80 ~ 90℃

Hardness range

Shaw A60 degrees to 95 degrees

Color

Black, transparent, light yellow, or customer-specified colors

Application

Polyurethane materials can be used to manufacture solid tires, cushioning products, hydraulic and pneumatic seals in the automotive industry; oil seals and seals in the oil production industry; artificial hearts, artificial heart valves, artificial blood vessels in the medical field, etc.

Polyurethane rubber is often used in the mechanical industry, especially where the material must have high wear resistance and strength.

In some application environments, moisture will condense on the surface of rubber seals, which will cause AU to hydrolyze, so it would be better to choose EU. However, EU is less oil-resistant, so a higher aniline point oil must be used as a lubricant.
